Bridal Shower Sayings
Posted Thursday, January 26, 2006 3:35:55 PM by Alex Molin

Sayings can give our special occasions an added value. They can emphasize feelings, meanings, desires, ambitions, goals and much more.

A bridal shower is a good opportunity to use sayings, especially if it is a theme shower.

How to combines sayings with bridal shower?

  • You can use sayings to explain the theme on the invitations.

  •
  • You can use them to express your heartfelt thanks when writing the “thank you” cards

  •
  • You can print them on the favors you give. This will give the favors meaningful and make them special and unique.

  •
  • Use them to decorate the tables - type up and framed cute sayings, quotes, and stories about marriage and put one on each table.

  •
  • Decorate the shower cake with a sho...

Dog the Bounty Hunter - The Wedding Special
Posted Sunday, January 14, 2007 3:35:32 PM by Blog57 Team
Those who've watched the film "Domino" (based upon real-life bounty hunter Domino Harvey) recently may be interested in the A & E series "Dog: The Bounty Hunter", which was spun off from a special called "Take This Job", which profiled unusual careers. The series follows real-life bounty hunter "Dog" Chapman who, with the help of his family (wife Beth; Dog's brother, Tim; Dog's son, Leland; and Dog's nephew, Justin), tracks down criminals on the Hawaiian islands. The series jumps between Dog's home life and professional life as Dog takes care of his family both at home and while chasing down the bad guys. Given that it's a profession that one hears so little about (I'm guessing intentionally, as the hunters probably don't want every trick of the trade to get out), it's interesting to see the way that Chapman and his crew operate (although I'm unsure if it's similar to how other bounty hunters work) on a day-to-day basis....

Snow Believes Dem Takeover Won't Happen

Handsome and super-intelligent Washington celebrity Tony Snow, President George W. Bush's press secretary, popped into Greenwich for a Chris Shays fund-raiser in a gated community last Thursday at twilight. He beat the drums for his boss who is on the skids in polls. President Bush's unpopularity is due to spiraling opposition to the Iraq War that has killed more than 2,700 Americans, cost $360 billion and drains $250 million a day from Uncle Sam's pockets. While he was putting the President on a pedestal, Snow, dressed in his best boardroom threads, urged Republicans to help catapult Shays to victory on Tuesday. Also boosting Shays were Doug and Betsey Korn, who hosted the affair on their 10th wedding anniversary. As loyal Republicans and admirers of Shays, they indicated they were glad to sacrifice not having an intimate and romantic celebration on the "very" day of the anniversary....

Exclusive: Matthew Herbert Talks Scale
Posted Thursday, November 09, 2006 7:49:42 PM by Blog57 Team
A sound is never just a sound to Matthew Herbert, and a piece of music is never just a piece of music-- it's an act of protest. Whether working under his own name or under a series of aliases (Doctor Rockit, Radio Boy, Wishmountain, etc.), the British producer treats both process and product as political entities. He has made albums about physicality using the sounds of the human body (2001's Bodily Functions), mass consumption using food and food processing materials (last year's Plat du Jour), and the evils of corporate globalization using McDonalds wrappers, Gap boxer shorts, Marlboro cigarettes, and a Starship Troopers video cassette, among other source materials. Every Herbert album is a concept album to a certain extent, and his latest, Scale, due out May 30 on !K7, is no different....

Remarks by the President at Perry for Governor 2006 Rally

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all very much. Rick, thanks for the kind introduction. Let me put it to you this way: Everything I learned I learned right here in Texas. (Applause.) All I've tried to do in Washington is what you expected me to do when I was your governor -- (applause) -- speak plainly, make decisions based upon principles, and stand strong with Texas values. (Applause.) And that is exactly what Rick Perry has done. I'm proud to be here with him. You know, one of the great comforts that I had when I left the state to head up to Washington was knowing that Rick Perry was going to be the Governor. (Applause.) He's optimistic. He's done in office what he said he would do, and he's got a record. He's got a strong record to run on: Taxes are low, budgets are down, surpluses aplenty, fix the school funding issue....

Family brings wedding to grandmother

It was a celebration for the ages, and the guest of honor knew exactly which dress to wear. On Oct. 16, 86-year-old Maria Diessner watched as her seventh grandchild, Lucas Pilipski, walked down the aisle with blushing bride Shrina Patel. Donning the same dress she wore to the wedding of her first grandchild more than a decade earlier, the Shorrock Gardens resident watched through teary eyes as the Brick adult-care facility hosted the ceremony she never thought she'd see. "It made me feel very special to be able to wear this dress again," Diessner said. "The ceremony was beautiful, and so much more than I could have ever expected." The bride and groom's immediate family, as well as Shorrock residents, staff and their families, all were invited to share in the festivities, which were held at the facility to ensure that Diessner, who recently suffered a stroke, could attend....

Highlights from the world's press

After a shocking third U.S. school shooting in the last week, The New York Times has reopened the national debate on gun-control, saying a surprisingly large number of people will "call [the gunman] guilty but his weapons innocent." "There are no simple solutions to this conflict. It is neither possible nor tolerable to secure every school or guard every child. Nor is it possible or politically tolerable to keep tabs on every gun. But in these killings we see an open society threatened by the ubiquity of its weapons, in which one kind of freedom is allowed to trump all others. Most gun owners are respectable, law-abiding citizens. But that is no reason to acquit the guns." Lula After Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva failed to win a majority of the vote in Sunday's election, the Los Angeles Times says that while Lula is "heavily favored" to win the run-off election, he may find it difficult to "get much done" in his second term....

'The Carson Years' Alumni submit stories about beloved Principal Jesse C. Carson

Alumni wrote stories about Jesse C. Carson as part of The Carson Years reunion weekend, which took place Oct. 6-7 at Carson High School. These are some of the winners. No time for a nap One Friday afternoon during football season of my senior year, my best friend, Ronald Taylor, and I decided that we needed a nap before we played football that night. So, we skipped sixth period and walked to my house on Shue Road. We had just laid down in the front bedroom when we heard someone knocking on the door. My mother went to the door and guess who was there??? MR. CARSON!!! He asked my mother (we could hear the conversation), "Are Ronald and Donald in there?" She said "yes" and then he quietly said, "Well, tell them if they expect to play football tonight, they had better be back in sixth period." Needless to say, we went back to sixth period....

Celebrity Cruises Introduces New Vow Renewal Program
Posted Thursday, October 19, 2006 3:15:19 PM by Blog57 Team
Celebrities ranging from pop star Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil to actor Robert DeNiro and wife Grace are among the increasing number of couples choosing to renew their wedding vows in recent years. Celebrity Cruises is keeping pace with the trend by introducing a new vow renewals program, which the line launched in a particularly meaningful way. Dr. Charles Garbarino booked Celebrity's vow renewal package as a surprise for his wife, Lydia, while the couple sailed this season in Alaska on Celebrity's Summit with two other couples, one of whom they met on a cruise during their honeymoon 20 years ago. Garbarino, an Army colonel and pediatrician, has served twice in Operation Iraqi Freedom and is being deployed to the region again in April 2007. "I have always lived my life to its fullest, and never feared death, but if I don't return from my next tour, I wanted something for Lydia - the love of my life and my soul mate - to remember always," said Garbarino....
